London engagement session big ben telephone booth

Without getting to gushy in this blog post, we must say simply this. …We love Amy and Adam.  Amy and I (Sarah, here) go way back to junior high days of driving around “just for fun”, the other not-so-good high wasted jeans, and when cafeteria seating arrangements were amongst the biggest of concerns.  Amy was even a bridesmaid at Adam and my wedding, while “her” Adam played artsy videographer, giving us our wedding video that we look back on even now. We were privileged to photograph them in their new home of London, England this August while we were there visiting them after their move there this April.  While we miss their presence in Austin, we were overjoyed to spend quality time with them, driving (on the wrong side of the road!) around the countryside and imagining our lives there, and of course eating all the delicious fare London has to offer.  We hope these photos mean as much to them as they do to us, representing this one of many adventures that life brings and a little slice that we got to partake in.:) It’s strange how at home we felt with them there, halfway across the world, which made us remember something-  it’s more about who you’re at home with rather than where.  Oliver Wendell Holmes said it best, ” Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.”

Bride Groom Portrait Corpus Christi Birds

It’s hard to even put into words how incredible Deepti & Advay’s wedding was. From the first night of celebrations, it was clear how fun and personal this event was going to be. Their friends made toasts that were absolutely hilarious and thoughtful and family members put on surprise performances for Deepti & Advay that represented how much these two meant to each other. Perhaps the highlight of the first night was a performance by Advay –  a moving melodic song sung for Deepti, leaving not a dry eye in the room.

The wedding day proved to be no different, and as each celebration took place you could see both families and friends smiling from ear to ear. The joy was tangible.

Thank you Deepti and Advay for welcoming us to your wedding day, and for sharing your joy with us.

  • megan - WOW WOW WOW. GORGEOUS: the bride/groom, the photography and images captured, the wedding itself, all of the rich and deep colors: WOW. I am also sort of jealous that I also couldn’t attend that wedding. Looks like a blast and once again, yall captured it beautifully! Bravo.

Austin Engagement Session

The holiday season is always a busy time… for everyone, I’m guessing.  This past December we had the pleasure of photographing one of my dearest friends and her wonderful hubby for their holiday card!  We’ll call it an anniverstmas shoot, since it was in part to celebrate their happy 6 years together!  The lovely Julie is a talented wedding photographer, and Chris is a talented carpenter and together they’re as awesome as one perfectly photogenic piece of custom furniture (could there be anything better?).  Really, we couldn’t be more thankful that the social gods pulled the four of us together, and are proud to call them friends.
