Planning a Budget-Friendly Honeymoon

Finally setting on a wedding date, signals the start of planning on the where, how, what and who to consider. The foremost of course is to establish a wedding budget, because choices will always have to meet the budget set for a particular wedding element. Not unless, one is marrying a well-off partner, who can go all out with whatever their soon-to-be-sealed partnership desires.

Organize Everything

Another important thing is to start by having a ready big brown envelope on hand, the sturdy type with lots of compartments. That way, you can organize all notes, catalogues, brochures, web printouts, quotations, proposals, applications, registration forms and everything you deem useful in helping you and your partner plan a wedding with ease. Once you have a great compilation of info on who to invite, what and where to buy, who to hire, and when to reserve, you can start making a final list of the wedding guests to invite.

Do not feel bad if you cannot invite all that was in your original list, just make sure everyone important to you and your future hubby will receive an invitation. As much as possible, ask for an early confirmation of their attendance, so you can add another friend as guest in case one or more or your intended guests cannot come.

When to Make Honeymoon Plans

Once the entire wedding plan has been settled, registered, booked, contracted and partially paid for, make plans for your honeymoon. Some may not agree, but where you will spend your honeymoon is not the critical issue. It is how you want to spend those special days that really matters.

That becomes even more important once you have accounted how much budget you have left for the honeymoon. At that point you will be planning based on how much you can afford, yet at the same time come up with one that you and your partner truly desire.

Suggestions for a Budget-Friendly Honeymoon

Start with a mindset that you will be choosing from arrays of budget-friendly locales offering staycation getaways. Look for those that come with pleasurable amenities. You will be surprised to find info about cozy cottage rentals set amidst serene and peaceful wooded properties. Depending on your choice of location and budget, amenities may include fully equipped kitchens, Wi-Fi, hot water, mountain views and a host of outdoor activities.

If you are anywhere near the state of New York, choose inexpensive cabins, so you can have extra money to spend on outdoor fun. Find parks within easy distance, where you can hike, cycle, do some birding, in-season hunting or go fishing. If the time of year allows, your honeymoon activity may include basking and dipping in nearby beaches, or skiing and riding snowmobile in the best ski resorts located in Western New York.

By the way, should you decide to book a cottage rental, make sure the proprietor is renting out one that is free from bugs and all sorts of insects inhabiting the woods. Some may sting or bite, while some are fangless like camel crickets; the latter can spoil your honeymoon as they have a penchant for feasting on savory-smelling garments.

Just to stay on the safe side, add knowing how to get rid of camel crickets on your to-do list in case you encounter one during your budget-friendly honeymoon.
