Shannon and Adley had quite possibly, one of the most charming weddings we’ve attended.  It had everything a wedding should have…lots of laughter, personal and heartfelt vows, their closest friends and family and of course… mimosas.  Their itsy bitsy wedding was held on Friday, the 13th at Chapel Dulcinea overlooking the Austin hill country.  They chose to keep their wedding simple as they prepare to move to Singapore in the coming weeks, and we’re so excited for their adventure!  Here’s a few favorites from Shannon and Adley’s small, intimate, and perfect wedding.

Yup! That’s right! Sarah and Adam.  Fun, huh?

We met Sarah and Adam early this year to chat about their wedding at the Palm Door and instantly felt like we were old friends. Maybe it was one of those early e-mails where Sarah interchanged the words “kids” with “pugs” (who doesn’t love those furry family members?) or perhaps it was hearing their original and inspiring ideas for their wedding this coming December, that made us feel instantly connected.  These two march to their own beat in a fantastic, “why not do things in a new way?” sort of style.  They are playful and fun loving with each other and have such genuine spirits that it’s hard to not want to spend more time with them. (…which might be why we couldn’t stop taking photos of them!)  So, we (Sarah and Adam) are proud to introduce Sarah and Adam.  :)  Here’s a few favorites from their Austin engagement session.

As we mentioned in Sara & Jonathan’s Engagements post, it’s impossible to not fall in love with these two! Their energy is contagious, their love is real, and the minute they’re gone you wish you were hanging out again.

After getting to know these two better at their engagements, we could hardly wait to see how their wedding would reflect who they are, and we were excited to meet the people in their lives! As expected, their family and friends were open, warm, inviting and just plain FUN. Their wedding was perfect from start to finish and we are super excited to share some of our favorite photos from that fantastic day!

The world is a small place… and I have proof. When I was backpacking around Europe about 10 years ago I randomly bumped into Carolyn on a train from Paris to Rome. We were each with a group of friends and decided to team up and stick together for some of our Italian adventures. Ever since then we have sporadically become pen pals several times. The world was determined to keep us connected.

I remember we had just started our photography business a few years ago when Carolyn and I got in contact again. She and her wonderful fiancé Tom have been some of our biggest supporters from the very beginning and followed our work closely. Even before they were engaged Carolyn would write me emails about certain pictures or how much she loved certain posts, but nothing was more exciting than the email that said “WE ARE ENGAGED!!”

So skip to now, we are so incredibly excited and honored to be a part of the biggest day of their lives! Thank you two for everything, the hospitality, the kindness, and your amazing generosity. We can’t wait to see you back in Savannah in a couple weeks!!!!  Until then, here are some of our favorites from their engagement session.

The wedding photography community is pretty fantastic.  Austin, in particular, boasts a tightly knit community of fellow photographers that meets up regularly, shares studio spaces, and offers advice and feedback on topics wedding photography-related.  Adam and I had no idea of the community of photographers when we began photographing weddings, and we couldn’t feel more blessed to be a part of it.  Trish Finfer is one of those fantastic fellow photogs who we’d met and felt akin to via the twittersphere and facebook, and keeping up with her fantastic work (click here to see!).  We couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised when we met her and her hubby in person for an “anniversary shoot” at how comfortable and easygoing they both were to be around.  :)  With lots of laughter and an up-for-anything attitude, Trish and Joe made our afternoon shoot feel more like hanging out with old friends.  Here’s a few of our favorites from this lovely afternoon!

About a year ago when I was still attending college, I met Lauren in my business plan course. She was the TA to one of the greatest professors I have ever had, and was very hands on with everyone’s projects. So throughout the semester she was able to really get to know everyone and what their businesses had to offer. Half way through the semester we had to “present” our business ideas to the rest of the class, and when I had finished my presentation Lauren said “I have no idea when I’m getting married, but when I do, you guys are shooting my wedding.”

So you can imagine how excited Sarah & I were when we received a phone call from Lauren about a month ago! “We’re getting married, and you guys are shooting it! Please tell me you’re open in July.” We couldn’t be more excited for these two and to be a part of their lives! Yay Lauren + JT!!!

We met the lovely Lisa and Trey last fall at Ann and Tim’s backyard wedding, and were overjoyed when they decided on us as their photographers for their own wedding this summer at Mercury Hall.  They couldn’t be more perfect for each other, and were up for anything.  If the connection between them looks effortless, it’s because it was… which made it difficult to stop taking photos of them!  Both of them were kind hearted, patient, fun loving and quick to laugh… perhaps the perfect combination of character traits (especially when it comes to taking photos)!  We are so excited to be a part of their upcoming wedding!!

There’s certain people we all meet throughout life that are just special.  There’s something that makes them charismatic, fun, interesting and unique, and when you start to talk with them you feel an immediate connection. You can’t help but want to learn more about their lives and uncover new stories. This is exactly the feeling we had when we met Amy & Daniel.

It was no different at their wedding. Watching these two with their friends and families made us fall even more in love with them than to begin with. It was clear they were amazing people and had touched the lives of those around them. We cannot thank you guys enough for having us be a part of this celebration!! PS – Thanks for emailing us an amazing collection of new music to check out, hopefully we can keep that going for awhile

One of the best things about our job is experiencing the different cultures, traditions, and the emotions of each wedding we document. It’s amazing how different each wedding leaves you feeling after the day is over. Often we’re amped up and ready to boogie and sometimes we’re ready to hit the hay! Either way it’s always different, and Angela & Teddy’s event was no exception.  It was sincere, playful and romantic, and reflected them in a way that you couldn’t help but fall in love with them.  Both of us were left with such a strong feeling of closeness and family, and appreciation for the things that mean most…the people in our lives that are part of who we’ve become today.  So thank you Angela and Teddy for allowing us to share in your amazing wedding day.

Getting to know our clients and becoming more than just their wedding photographer is one of the biggest reasons we love this job. Getting to know Christina & Matt during their engagement was truly an honor. They invited us into their home (several times), introduced us to their chickens, who provided us with some of the best eggs EVER, and shared their lives with us from the very beginning. Shooting their wedding felt like documenting an event for a friend rather than a client.
