Betsy + Jared | on top of the world.

And nowwww… for a very highly anticipated engagement session unlike any other… drum. roll. please. Ok- no drum roll, but YES!  These two climbed (“shimmied”) on top of the stairwell at the top floor of the parking garage downtown, granting Adam and I the opportunity to take some epic rooftop, in-love-with-the-world-ahead-of-us photos of Betsy and…

Barbara + Nick | Antiques, a Record Store, and an Abandoned Shopping Cart

For every engagement session (all our sessions really…), we try to make it unique to the couple/ family/ etc. Sometimes that is a super-steamy, low light sort of thing, or sometimes it’s soft, sweet and sunny. Barbara and Nick’s day after session had it’s own flare, too. Having shot their wedding a week earlier- we saw that they really made each other laugh with fun, sarcasm or simply a silly look. They really had fun with each other and didn’t take themselves too seriously. We love that, and tried to highlight their non-cheesy, lighthearted approach and document their newly married relationship in all it’s playful glory. We also happened upon this fabulous “air conditioned” record store and got one of my (Sarah here) favorite photos ever (above). During engagements, I try to make sure we get some sort of a ring shot- way fun to take a his and hers version. :) Barbara and Nick, thanks for braving the hottest day of the year to take these “day after” shots. Hope you love them all!

Purple chucks and a water balloon fight

Yep- you heard me right.  Here’s a preview from Janice and James’ engagement shoot.  Definitely check back in a week or two for more from these fun loving, music-rockin’, care free Austinites.  For now, these few to perk your interests.

Betsy + Jared | Sneak Peek

When we met up with Betsy and Jared yesterday, they mentioned that they might want to do some night time pics. Of-course we were totally down with that idea and told them, we normally plan on about 2 hours for an engagement session, not because we limit the sessions to a certain time, but that’s normally when people start to burn out a little. 4 hours later we were having a blast and still taking pictures of these guys!

I have to mention that these guys were up for anything! My hands our starting to get clammy just thinking about this first pic. When we decided to head over to a parking garage they eagerly made it to the highest point and Sarah and I started click click clicking! Thanks so much to both of you for thinking outside the box and 1. scaling buildings 2. playing with fire, and 3. eating Michael Jackson (you had to be there), all in the name of fantastic photos!
